Said to be the fourth most holiest Islamic site in the world, the Main Jamal Mosque in Damascus (old town) really is a fantastic place to visit, bear in mind though males must have their legs covered, so either visit wearing trousers or yuo will have to ware a very unattractive shirt!
Inside the main room of the mosque where the sermons take place, the length of 2 football fields is entirely covered in carpets and populated with people either praying, sleeping or viewing the shrine.
Again the main Jamal Mosque Damascus is well worth a visit! |
