Not the usual seaside holiday resort in fact hardly a beach in sight but fascinating enough for us.
Bushehr is in all the news at the moment as the place where Iran is supposedly building nuclear arms (as America would have the world believe, just look to Iraq for American ideas of truth), perhaps we would not have travelled there if we knew this beforehand.
Bushehr did allow us to swim in the Persian Gulf, water the same temperature as that in a bath and a most wonderful chance to board a Dhow boat. Twice invited onto these wonderful boats (seen in the Panoramic photo of Bushehr above) we were given tea while trying to converse with the boat owner and crew, though unfortunately the conversation was never able to go further than Manchester United and David Beckham.
Still, an extremely hot and humid city far away from the tourists trial, if there is one in Iran! |
